The Brave Together Hackathon 2021 Results and Products

Hundreds of developers from Israel and abroad collaborated on the 2021 Heroic March of Heroism to develop technological solutions, through which it will be possible to volunteer and assist Holocaust survivors, and promote Holocaust remembrance in innovative and especially empowering ways.

From a worldview that “the human psyche moves away from anything that diminishes its power, and seeks everything that strengthens its spirit” we hope to connect people to a memory of trees that will remain over time, and allow us all to create a better present and future.

The hackathon was formed in collaboration between the Brave Together hero parade andMinistry of Foreign Affairs Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Together with The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Hebrew University – Asper Huji Innovate, Elbit Systems, IMPACT! FIDF Scholarship Fund for Veterans, Amazon Web Services, Synamedia Synamedia And the investment fund And Ventures.

HeroU

The app allows you to create custom hero posts. Users can choose:
(1) Background (2) Images to be integrated
(3) Quote. When selecting the quote, you can choose from an existing citation database by topic, or specific text from the hero stories that exist in the app.

The site allows for learning sessions with heroes and heroines.
The volunteers learn from the heroes topics that interest them, such as speaking a new language, playing the piano and playing chess-mat …
This allows heroes to feel vital in society, pass on their knowledge to future generations and inspire us all.

Everyday heroes

Recipes of heroes

Volunteer app. The app makes the volunteering process accessible, and enables gamification of the volunteering process, so that users receive virtual coins for every volunteering that is performed. The app was developed on React Native
And allows the use of Android and iPhone.

A site that allows users to upload hero and heroine recipes, alongside the heroic stories of the heroes and heroines. Users can view recipes by country, intensify from the stories of heroism, and prepare the recipes – thus connecting the story to the cooking and eating experience, as we hold every holiday and holiday.

Creating an intimate supportive community around the protagonists. On the side of the heroes, a simple application that includes 3 requests (request for a conversation, help, meeting), where the heroes can select the desired request for help, thus transferring it in a simple way to the volunteers. Volunteers can accept the volunteer offers with the hero, thus creating a supportive community around them.

Remember Our Story

The app allows the display of heroic stories on the map, in a way that makes the stories accessible according to the different locations. Users can upload the stories themselves and thus create a network of stories that fills the map with various heroic stories – a virtual heroic parade.

An app that guides the creation of heroic stories for Instagram. The app makes it possible to make the process of creating the story accessible in an inspiring way, which makes the protagonist’s story accessible to social networks, similar to how Eva’s story made the stories accessible, only the language of the users themselves.

The app presents a story in parts, with each part required to slide right or left (Tinder style), with each side symbolizing a different answer. Finally, users are shown their percentage of accuracy in relation to the story. In this way, a playfulness of the story is created, which enables learning in an empowering, accessible and addictive way.
